Right?? I even checked a few H370 motherboards and they only support 2666mhz RAM.

Hasn't it been a thing for a long time that you can't have faster RAM on the lower tier motherboards?

Literally anybody who is slightly in the know about PCs know that anything under a 'Z' series chipset will limit RAM speeds.

Add a zero to the back and it's the next generation - From Nvidia's school of counting

 

or maybe he's referencing how i5 and below gets lower max memory frequency support than i7 and i9 on 10th gen, but the same has happened to i3, Pentium and Celeron before (e.g. on 8th gen, i3 and below gets 2400MHz only while i5 and i7 gets 2666MHz) so this doesnt make sense either

Well, for one all the OEMs won't stop using Intel, which is a huge amount of the profits, same with laptops.
