How to get rid of fake ads on youtube?

So i keep getting this near identical add on YouTube and it doesn't seem to come from google. For example it would show up, i'll wait 5 seconds, press skip and it will show up again 5 seconds later. Also it doesn't seem to have any relevance to the YouTuber's normal add placement. I tried to clean my pc of viruses, turned personalized add's off and on, nothing happens. If anyone has seen some thing similar or knows whats going on LMK please.

You probably have some malware on your PC. I would suggest you run a malware-scan.

uBlock Origin for Firefox

uBlock Origin for Chrome

If that doesn't work, then it's probably a bad extension on your browser.

Can you recommend 1 that might work?

@WereCatf @JoostinOnline@dreamcast4599 clicking on 1 of the options brings me to a Yahoo search of that title. I guess its also worth mentioning whenever i try searching for some thing it defaults to Yahoo despite setting the default to google.

Yeah, that's definitely malware. Disable all your browser-extensions first and see if that helps, but it most likely won't and you'll need to use one or another malware-removal app.

I don't really know. I haven't needed to deal with malware.

You can disable it on pages/sites. But honestly I have to wonder how much they even gain from ads/lose to adblockers.

An extension shouldn't do that much damage if it's from the chrome store or whatever browser you use

I saw over 5000 detections but that was a PC that hadn't been scanned in years and the last security product that ran on it was a very old version of Norton.

Well, I hope this is a lesson in keeping your PC secure. Go ahead and keep Malwarebytes, and be a lot more careful what you download from now on.

You don't need to tell me twice. My biggest issue, is that i saw basically zero performance degradation in my system, and nothing was running that shouldn't acc to task manager.
