Is there aptX in Windows 10?

milesuy

I have a Sony WH-1000XM3 headphone, which has aptX, and my PC has Intel Wireless-AC 9260.

Is there aptX in Windows 10? How can I use / enable aptX in Windows 10?

I believe you need to have a suitable codec in order to fully access the aptX menu in your PC. I hope you will get a concrete solution for your problem. Goodluck.

Depends entirely on the chipset your PC is using. According to the linked reddit post, Intel 8260 or 7265/3165/7260/3160 all support AptX, but may need a special driver installed and a checkbox checked to make it work. No idea if the 9260 Intel chipset supports it or not as I won't use Bluetooth headphones with a computer. Ever.

Win10 supports APTX by default. No additional procedures required.

On my end, I don't need to install the dell drivers apparently, I'm using Intel AX200 with Intel BT driver 21.120.0 on my Asus TUF505DT Laptop Windows 10 Enterprise 2004 build 19041.508. I tried both with and without dell driver, even with or without it. You'll have to use "hands-free" for microphone but suck audio, if you use (Stereo) the A2DP use Aptx as default in my case. I wish windows 10 let us see what codec is being used without any 3rd party programs like Bluetooth Tweaker or using Powershell on kirashi's post.

Here is my screenshot on Bluetooth Tweaker ( click here ), I forgot to screenshot on Windows Performance Analyzer. Tested both with and without the dell Intel Audio BT driver, same result on sound quality and delay. Noticed Wifi will affect the connectivity with Dell drivers installed.

Sadly I don't have other Aptx, AptxLL and AptxHD devices to test to, if someone have resources or time please do share here. I'm sticking without the dell Intel Driver, cause it have additional features, like I can see battery level and can switch between Stereo or Hands-Free.

not sure on Realtek, but apparently on one of my netbook Acer Aspire ES1-331 with Qualcomm Atheros AR956x, Windows 10 Pro 1903 Build 18362.1016 same result, the A2DP uses Aptx by Default I used the Powershell method since Bluetooth Tweaker doesn't work on the current windows version.

... but not the part everyone wants aptx for?

"If Microsoft wanted to hide this piece of information, they could not be doing a better job. A single page on microsoft.com mentions aptX. Apparently, Windows 10 has supported the aptX codec since the first release (1507). According to this Reddit thread, Windows 10 aptX support does not require any drivers in addition to what is part of the OS. I am mentioning that because numerous forum posts state you need to install special drivers. That does not seem to be true.

As for aptX HD or aptX LL (low latency): those codecs do not seem to be supported. If you would like to have them in Windows – especially aptX LL would be great when watching video – make sure to vote for this item in Feedback Hub: please add aptX Low Latency codec support to the Bluetooth A2DP driver."
