Looking to get a new CPU for gaming and the Ryzen 5 3600 is currently on sale for £161 (~$200) is this a good deal?

Thanks :)

Yes... if it fits your budget/computing needs & you have the 'cash' on hand, go for it.

I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have added.

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

@TomHit seems amazon has similar prices so I think I would wait. But I did find R5 3600 on ebay today for £145 + 5 postage - brand new:

*but i dont think it includes cooler so not really worth it i think unless you plan to get an aftermarket cooler*

I can't say anything bad about the 3600.  I've built two systems for friends using at, and it's been great.  Especially now, with how often its on sale.

Amazon price history makes it seem pretty good :)

Thanks for this. Seems pretty trustworthy but tbh for the £10 extra I'd probably prefer to get it off amazon (I have a lot of experience with their support haha)
