rtx Rx 5700 xt or rtx 2070

Which card would be better of to get I can get both for £400 so it's just up to which performs better than the other

The RX 5700XT is the better buy, it nears the 2070S with regards to gaming performance. Also can be found for less than £400.

XT has some neat driver features

 

2070 can do minecraft ray tracing better

If they are the exact same price, get the 2070. It performs slightly better.
Normally the 5700xt is cheaper than the 2070 and has a better price to performance but that’s not the case if they cost the same.

I think you may be confusing the 2070S with the 2070. The RX 5700XT outperforms the 2070, and nears the 2070S.

Yeah me too lol, but I did a double take and checked PCpartpicker because I was thinking there is no way the 2070S costs the same as the RX 5700XT, that would be a huge drop in price.

I also forgot to mention I play in 4k would the 2070 be better or worse then the 5700 in 4k

Its a more powerful gpu, so it would be better.

mostly. not for everyone though so as always with amd gpu's be aware you can have driver issues. yes i know they exist with nvidia too just.. not as much.

the 2070 wont be better than the 5700xt. just be aware you buy a good model that can handle thermals properly. since those cards have a tendency to heat up quickly with bad aib models or the reference. 

however.. that being said. it is often better to wait now that 3000 series is just around the corner. you may be able to get something better for the same price point. so wait. my guess that the 3070 will be around 450 ish bucks with more than 2080 level of performance. aka closer to 2080 super. so.. your best bet is to just wait. unless you absolutely have to get a card now. then go for the 5700xt. just get a good aib model.

that one isnt bad either no. it oc's well and its thermals are okay. personally i would choose for the powercolor red devil though if i had chosen a 5700xt over the 2070 super i have now i would have chosen that one too. it is better out of the box and i think oc too. and thermals are a bit better. but that can ofc change dependend on your case ambient temps etc.

regardless. if you would want to choose that card then you can. no problems with it!

Yes they have been, still a few lingering cases but overall from what I have seen/heard it is mostly a non issue, my 2 week old RX 5700 is fine.

The 5700 is worse that a 2070, a 5700 XT is better than a 2070. The 2070S is better than a 5700XT, but not by enough to justify the price increase IMO.
