Are XFX cards reliable and good?

I've found a rx 5700 XT for £370 when normally it would retail around £430. Its a XFX card, which is a brand I hadn't heard of before and their rx 3600 card is only £20 cheaper at £350. The deal just seems too good to be true. Anyone had any experience with XDFX graphics cards and could advise me on this?

XFX makes decent graphics cards, not really anything great about them, although if they are cheaper than other card models of the same GPU, then I would most likely get it. For a more specific answer, could you provide some links to the specific cards that you are looking at?

Got myself a XFX rx 480 4gb. i like them alot. good quality and good looks. They have been around for a long time too, so it isnt a new brand. I would definetly buy their 5700xt.

They make decent cards 

Just please avoid their thick 2 models. Especially for the 5700xt.

afaik there is not 3600 is a CPU not a GPU. It also depends on the specific model. XFX makes perfectly fine GPUs, and you likely won't have any issues, however specific models like their THICC II were somewhat torn apart by GamersNexus for their cringey name, and horrible cooling.

 

If I was going for a 5700XT I'd have a hard time getting anything else than a Red Devil, but if you can confirm it's an amazing deal, I'd jump on it.

Asides from the name being the worst thing ever, and the design looking like actual dogshit, it cools like absolute ass, and I believe GamersNexus found more issues with it. All in all it's a pretty bad aftermarket card.

Umm honestly I'm not too sure about the Dragon, I didn't really look into it too much. I think it was okay? I couldn't really find much on it. All I do know is the Red Dragon is pretty much the best 5700XT you can buy.

Keep in mind that, that is a 5700, not a 5700XT, so the price is obviously lower, performance is going to be lower, so if you're under the impression it's an XT model, your "deal" might not be a good one.

I think 280€ is decent price. But its b(r)ought form another country, so the warranty conditions are not that good.

I'm honestly hotspotting my phone for internet right now and my data is throttled due to being over my "unlimited" cap, so opening other tabs and doing research for you isn't really an option right now. I'd look on PCPartPicker and compare to other cards and determine for yourself if it is worth it.

 

Personally, buying a brand new GPU but not getting a warranty and shipping from a far away country sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen.

The THICC II has some serious issues. Several reviewers are really down on it. Also, that's a 5700, not an XT.

 

For whatever reason, XFX's Navi GPUs aren't up to par with their previous generation offerings.

Well their polaris offerings werent exactly great either. They were ok.

Navis are much, much worse. Double and triple-slot coolers so wide that they barely fit in some mid-towers, and yet they run loud and hot.

Well they did fill that extra space with a plastic shroud instead of thicker fans or heatsink.

Yeah, I would say that this is one of their good models, should work just as well or better than other 5700XT cards and if it is at a lower cost than other 5700XT cards with triple fan cooler designs then I would recommend getting it.

Wonderful thank you. I did just realise that its a 320mm length card and I have a corsair carbide matx case which says max gpu length of 290mm... haha is 30mm just too much for me to try and squeeze in or do you think I could get away with it. I don't have a dual rad or anything on the front fans which I think is what would limit the length of the card so much.

30 mm isn’t something you can just “squeeze in” usually. As for XFX, I have the card you were looking at, the XFX RX 5700 DD Ultra. Definitely a good pickup in my opinion. $300 on Amazon brand new about 6 months ago, came with Borderlands 3, and they have this cool reviewer rewards program thing so if you leave a review after purchasing one if their products they give you a free $25 Amazon gift card. I flashed a 5700 XT bios onto it and it runs like a champ, albeit a little loud, but at that price for 5700 xt-like performance I’m not complaining.

Just to be clear so I know what I'm buying, the link I posted says its a 5700XT and therefore isn't a base 5700 card right? Or am I miss understanding?

Sorry, got a little mixed up, that was someone else who posted that link and asking about it in this thread for some reason. The link you posted is a 5700 XT yes. It looks to be just an upgraded cooler of the DD ultra to compensate for the extra power of the 5700 xt, looks pretty good.
