Motherboard is stuck in my case.

I have a prebuilt desktop that I was going to upgrade into a new case, but I can’t get the motherboard out at all. I’ve unplugged all standoff screws and power cables, but it doesn’t want to come out.

I don’t think they did, but what it looks like is one or two of the actual standoffs are stuck in the board, but I don’t know how to get it unstuck without using a lot of force...

Who built the system? You should probably contact them to see if it is safe for you to attempt to remove it.

Cyberpower built it... it looks like one of the standoffs is literally jammed in the board...

It's not being held in at the back in any way by the CPU heatsink mount?

ok. Well try lifting from the front edge of the board because expect the rear IO panel to hold that end down. After youve tilted it up from that end and cleared the standoffs it should then slide out of the rear io panel.

Anytime I do any lifting of it or anything it still feels like it’s being held down somewhere, but all of the standoff screws are out

It’s somewhere in the middle of the board... the right side is loose along with the left side, but the middle won’t budge... and I’ve gotten all of the screws out.

Sometimes the rear io can put a reasonable amount of pressure on the board. Trying to slide it forwards. This can give a feeling of things being held in place. Just to be super clear though since it's hidden in the pic you did get the top middle screw?

Yes I have gotten all of the top screws.

Okay, so are those central standoffs poking through the holes like you mentioned? Can you get a pic of that?

That’s what I’m thinking is happening..

What you probably have there is pressure from the rear io pushing the board against that edge. 

Place your fingers along the front edge. Parallel to the ram.

Apply some pressure backwards towards the rear io. Watch to see if the screw mounts center in their holes.

Then while keeping the back pressure gently apply some lifting pressure.

It looks like they aren't press fit in. They should have enough room to slide out, but maybe there is an alignment issue and they are rubbing hard against the sides of the holes, causing lot's of static friction.

 

I agree with above. And lift from very close to the hole without bending the board.

You might try using a screw driver or similar to bend the standoff away from the side of the hole that it is touching.

ps. If you're anything like I used to be when I was new to this grab a towel to mop the sweat off your brow so it doesn't drip on the mb

Nothing is working...

I think at this point I’m screwed. I’ve tried applying pressure towards the rear io and lifting a little bit and nothing happened... I tried sliding it towards the front of the case and it won’t budge. I’ve tried lifting at an angle and it still wouldn’t budge...

Does the standoff in the center of the board have a screw hole? Or is it just a locating standoff?

Also if you're not having any luck lifting because it feels like its stuck in the middle then perhaps try pushing from the rear on the heatsink plate. (but don't forget to hold the board so it doesnt fall out

Both of the standoffs that are off centered have screw holes...

How about twisting the board clockwise or counterclockwise.
