DrDisrespect Permanently Banned from Twitch

Rupe

Hmm, so interestingly there's a theory/rumour that he might have pocketed some cash from a charity event that he did that's doing the rounds.

That actually would make total sense, its a sensitive topic, would warrant him being arrested and would certainly be a legitimate cause for Twitch & Discord to drop him like a stone.

I highly doubt Twitch refunding 10's of thousands of dollars worth of active subs would be a good idea on their part if this was just some publicity stunt. It seems much more likely that they're trying to wipe their hands clean of Dr. Disrespect entirely.

They’ve already gotten more than that in press. Still a good deal.  No one who is saying knows.  At some point we will.  There seems to be a thousand random rumors which means one of them is likely correct.  Doesn’t make the predictor a prognosticator.  As the saying goes Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.  What we do know is information is not being released.  The timing of that release in the news cycle may be interesting.  If it’s times to be big news the probability of it being crap goes up.

I don’t know what “cc” refers to.  Anyone know?

UPDATE: this was supposed to quote @lewdicrous but for some reason it failed.  Was asking because it was referenced in a Twitter posted by his wife.

Probably something related to what they call their fans.

In what context? On a video it usually means Closed Captions.

interesting , but he's already getting huge donos from users every time he streams adding upto thousands & recent deal with twitch that could be worth a few millions. chances are low he would want to do it for some extra money.

Ah.  fan club.  Comedians usually have really good names for their fan clubs.  I always liked Ellen DeGeneres’s (sp?). It’s called the degenerettes.

Different context.

In the video you linked, he didn't get perma banned, discord didn't drop the partnership, his fans didn't get a refund, etc.

He doesn't seem to have commented at all on it which might imply legal action? I know pure speculation, but I find it hard to believe he would shut up without a very good reason for shutting up.

The cops apparently serving a warrant at his home already implied legal action of some sort.

Seeing as it was his last stream, it probably happened during or shortly after it.

Can you look up online whether criminal charges were filled against someone in the United States? Because what I am thinking is, I don't think Twitch would know of potential criminal misconduct prior to charges being filled. It's not like the police goes to them and is like "hey btw, we are investigating against streamer X for Y" unless Twitch is somewhat involved in the form of having to provide info.

They could if they subpoenaed records from Twitch and discord. Though they would likely not know when the investigating agency would server any type of warrant.

Also I would assume Twitch isn't allowed to just ban him while the investigation is still going on because that might tipp him off.

kinda makes sense,  look at his body language & his voice, his head is going down & down through out the time afterwards the alleged shocking text or whatever he got. as if he's realizing something & accepting the outcome of it & his voice is dampening down more & more & he starts reflecting more on "life's events" being bad, But he keeps trying to grab that high confidence tone  of 'nothings wrong' & failing to sustain it.

Right. They could have learned information they were not aware of until looking at the data/information subpoenaed by law enforcement either. It is possible that they could have asked/requested information on when they were doing it to coordinate his shut down if that is indeed what happened.

If you find the video posted earlier in this thread and skip to the end, right before he shouts FUCK and kills the stream you can hear someone walk into the room and say something like "that's enough, put your hands up". It's super quiet and very muffled but its there.

What I think happened is the police knocked on his door, his wife begged them to let him sign off, she then texted him to tell him what was going on and instead of signing off he tried to ignore them. Eventually they got fed up and went to get him.
