PCIe WiFi Card Suggestions?

Redrooster

So I'm moving into a new house with my family. The only problem is, we will be without Ethernet ports for about a month.

As someone whose hobby is PC gaming, and everything to do with the internet, this is troubling to me. My mobo (B450 Tomahawk) doesn't have built-in WiFi. Did some research, and found that a PCIe WiFi adapter is probably my best bet.

A thing to note, the router is going to be upstairs, and it is gigabit connection. Do you fellow forum dwellers have any suggestions as to which card I should buy?

Always go wired when its possible. So in this case just get a cheap USB wifi dongle and after a month wire the pc and toss the dongle :D

17 Dollars should be enough for a cheap TP link one https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-desktop-10-9-10-14-Archer-T2U/dp/B07P5PRK7J/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=tp+link+usb&qid=1592747056&s=electronics&sr=1-1

Do you have a budget?

Is the router WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 compatible?

All I know is that it's the Nighthawk R8000. I looked on Amazon and I didn't see a "WiFi 5" or "WiFi 6"

It could be up to 3 months before I can get a wired connection, and I'd like to get the best option that provides as long of a reach as possible.
