Looking for the Be All End All monitor

My minimum requirements are 4K, 27", 120Hz, IPS, HDR 800+. Major plus for gSync and small bezels. Fan noise is a MAJOR downside

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a good stacking monitor stand which will allow me to get a significant negative angle

Besides, you can't push 4K 120Hz in anything more than esports.  Going to upgrade your system?

There are diminishing returns on higher refresh and eventually we might be able to swing 6-8K resolutions, but those are 6 years out minimum
Further, a 1080 ti can push 150 frames in tons of games and we are around the corner from a new generation of Nvidia GPUs

Indeed. You said minimum. 38" is greater than 27", and UW is greater than 16:9.

Absolutely fair. If I found an UW that met these reqs, I'd def give it a shot, but this one is a QHD, not a UHD, which is a requirement

Acer Predator XB3 is the closest I can think of off the top of my head, but its HDR is only 400.

Well, desk space isn't something specified but I have to argue with the head swivel.  UW (not the super UW's) are fantastic for filling your field of vision.  You can also set your UI to compensate.  I just prefer the peripheral views afforded by an UW.

 

Realistically tho, If you're going to upgrade your GPU soonish then a 4K 120 may work.  I just don't see any reason to go over 1440p at this point.  Density of 4K just isn't a big deal at the sizes of monitor you're looking at.

UW totally sucks. Even 16:9 is lame. I really miss the days when you could buy 16:10, the best aspect ratio to ever exist.

Been there, done that, hated it. Nothing is designed with them in mind. When I can get 32:9 4K 120hz I'll grab a pair, entirely redesign my desk, and slice out the middles for one 16:9, then have readers on the sides. Until then, please don't try to tell me my monitor preferences. It turns out that different people value different things. I have not once tried to tell you you are wrong for your preference, kindly do me the same favor.

I'm at 48:9...but separate obviously. Not sure I'd like a UW of that ilk, and have to go through the software and stuff.

Not gonna lie, I wish there were smaller 2560x1600 monitors. I love my 30” Dell monitor, but damn is it a heavy motherfucker to move around.

I'm going to be honest, I like ultrawides.  I run a 3440x1440/144hz panel and love it to bits.  It's also important to acknowledge that OP has clear, concise requirements and wants a product recommendation based on those, not the personal preference of other users.  Not every new user on LTT is tech illiterate

BTW if you are in the market for such a beast, you are maybe on the market for a next generation GPU, because you wont be able to play 4k 120 htz easily

Yup, I can get 100+ on a lot of the games I play with just a 1080ti, but FC5 and hovers around 45 and RDR2 from what I've seen is sub-30
