Games that push a 2080 ti

Dravinian

I been playing a few games lately, and I noticed that barely any of them push the 2080 ti.  Need for Speed, the latest one, barely touches the sides.  Modern Warfare, an older game, but good graphics back in the day, nope doesn't push the 2080 at all.

I played Jedi: Fallen Order, barely pushing it above 40%/45c...then I went into the settings and discovered a few things, turned everything on and finally got the card to break 65c at 80% load.

So anyone got any recommendations for a game or two that will really push the card? I mean, it was expensive, might as well try and get something out of it by pushing the graphics on it.

I was thinking maybe Red Dead Redemption 2, might be a push, but I heard it is a push for everything because it is really badly optimised, dunno whether that is accurate.

If you take almost any AAA games and max the settings and resolution (super sampling) with no frame cap you should get higher usage.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

1440p 144hz G-Sync compatible...I am more a look at the sights gamer than a need for 7 bazillion FPS.

So anything pretty, I don't care about having DLSS on if it assists (BF5 let me down as you need a 4k res at 60hz to have DLSS on....ffs)

Then give me some that do, because I have played a few, I always max settings and I barely push the card.

As I just posted, not looking for 9m frames per second, prefer the visuals over just having more frames that you can't even notice.

I did take FPS limit off on Fallen Order, and I put on V-Sync, took off motion blur and there was one more setting I think it was a sampling setting but it takes so damn long to load I can't be bothered to load it up and see.

The 2080ti is a 4K card, so you'll benefit from it the most by playing at 4k resolution. I'd say for you monitor that card is a little bit overkill. Any AAA games at 4K max settings will properly push your 2080ti to it's limits.

V-sync limits your FPS to your monitors refresh rate. Turn that off if you want to push your card. You should consider super sampling, it will allow your card to render it as if it were 4K and then display 1440p. This gives you a slight increase in image quality.

VR Racing Simulators and flight sims in general will push the heck out of a 2080ti with supersampling (cause VR loves stupidly high resolution rendering per eyes...which also means lot of VRAM use.)

If you just want to tax it...use supersampling...in nvidia control panel...:

you can go up to 4X...so 2560x1440 X4= 10240 X 5760 = 58 982 400 pixels...if you want to make it crawl:

Cheers will add that to the list.  I remember the first gears game I actually enjoyed it, I quite like the hide and shoot mechanic, hopefully it still exists.

Yes,

Gears 5 is vastly superior to the original.

You have future proofed settings in there as well, just like Gears 4 PC.

Running 5 at Ultra will easily saturate the 2080 Ti - it’s one of the best looking graphical games out there.

But if you really want to cripple the Ti, Gears 5 has some settings labelled “Insane” which are meant to future proof the game as running it at that level is probably more feasible from the next gen hardware about to realise in a few months!

However, there’s some amazing features it brings for sure.

The in game benchmark definitely will show you being 99-100% GPU bound of your CPU is strong enough.

Anyway, it’s on Xbox Game Pass if you have that or you can get it individually from the Microsoft Store / Steam,

Enjoy it once you get round to it.
