Computer Makeover Using Craigslist. Help answer my questions

My current CPU specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 @ 3.5 GHz

MB: ASROCK B250M PRO4

Ram: 8 GB ddr4

graphics card: GTX 1060 3 GB

Storage: 230 GB SSD and 1 TB HD

Power Supply: 450 W

Was looking to upgrade CPU so I could play games.

Got this deal on craigslist for $400

MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard
Intel i7-7700K CPU
Noctua NH-L9i Low-Profile Cooler
G.SKILL 8GB (4GB x 2) RAM

From my understanding the CPU alone is worth almost $400.  The lowest price I could find online for the motherboard was in the $300 - $400 range.  The cooler is worth between $30 to $50 and the ram is worth $40.

This will change my specs to:

CPU: Intel i7-7700K CPU

MB: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard

Ram: 8 GB ddr4 + G.SKILL 8GB (4GB x 2) RAM

graphics card: GTX 1060 3 GB

Storage: 230 GB SSD and 1 TB HD

Power Supply: 450 W

My questions are:

1. Is a 450 W power supply still good with my upgraded CPU or do I also need to upgrade the PS?

2. Does mixing an 8 gb ram and 2 4 gb ram mess up the Ram performance?

3. Should I also upgrade my 1060 3 gb GPU?

4. What is the benefit of using one motherboard over the other?

That cpu is 400 due to it being discontinued and that being old stock. I reality it's beaten by 120$ cpu's. For 400$ you got kinda ripped off ngl. You could have had something far better newer.

What 450w psu do you have? 450w tells nothing.

Ryzen 3300x. It's a little better but costs a fraction of the cost. B550 boards just launched and the tomahawk and pro 4 are great boards but pricing is odd. As long as either can be obtained for 100 or less go for it. Then get a 2x8gb kit of ram that is 3000mhz or faster and this all should set you back 300$. If you want a better cpu that really blows away the 7700k get a ryzen 3600 and that should still be under 400$.

Either of those cpu's will not hold back a gtx 1060.

Is your CX450M a green label or white label (green text on psu)?

The label is white but the text is black.
