What’s the point of having this card if the rest of your hardware is not so bueno?

and your probably not gonna have a great experience with a 4th gen i5 and ddr3

I don't think it will be enough to get a 5700xt

Depends on your workload the 4670 lacks ipc count but it should be decent

I'm more concerned with the PSU and mobo tho

We need more specs.

If it is good RAM, a nice aftermarket GPU, good motherboard, good PSU, has SSD, etc, then go for it even for $200. If it is just a prebuilt Dell or whatever with a GPU slapped in it, try and get him down to $150.

The point is to make first step for "Bueno hardware"

I have the exact same thing except only 8GB of RAM and I have the 4670k. It runs great with linux but I think windows would be to heavy to game with. Your 16GB ram might let you get away with windows though. I  probably wouldn't bother trying super new AAA games on it but for e-sports and older games its fantastic.

Note: I did put out for a cheep SSD at micro center, even if you put your games on an HDD having the OS on an SSD makes a world of difference

Yes ssd is the way ... turned my old q6600 to a beast of fast booting time in windows ... but it's about it ... I still can't game that much on that ... For the system you posted well like others said if it got some good hardware then yes it's probably a good deal.  That rx 470 is not that bad for older titles and you could probably oc it to get some juice out of it.

I reject this statement entirely, as an owner of two systems with 8gb of ddr2, these systems are not doing fine.

Your also running ddr3 most ddr2 systems are older than 11 years old, atleast. Sure your Xeon, which is a server/prosumer product is still fine, but any basic consumer products are not gonna have held up well.

I still disagree. It completely depends on OP's use case. The only time one can make a generalized statement for something like this is when it's something that just straight-up doesn't work with modern programs/OSes or whatever.

True, I am assuming the op is gaming. But at the same time, you have to use you’re best judgement on the use case, unless this purely a pc for an old os or  browsing the web and talking to grandma on Facebook, ddr2 won’t cut it, even browsing chrome can be taxing on 8 gb of ddr2 because of how slow ddr2 is.
