Feeling I'm not getting the best out of my setup...

Pokaa

Hey guys! Was recommended to post here by a friend who also posts here. I've been having some issues and more or less questions about my setup and what might be wrong with it. I don't have some kind of BEAST $4,000 gaming PC, but I have a PC that I would think should be above average for most games I play, since I don't play the ultra games on the highest settings.

This is the gist of my setup:

Ryzen 5 2600

16GB Ram
NVIDIA  Geforce GTX 1080 8GB VRAM
500 GB Samsung evo SSD + 2TB HDD (all games are on ssd)
LG 27MK400H (probably the cheapest monitor I could have gotten at the time)
Samsung 27 Inch monitor (my side monitor not my gaming monitor)

PSU is evga 650 bronze I believe, could be 600 bronze I forget.

and I feel i'm getting below average fps for my setup, I play a lot of overwatch where I only get anywhere from 65-95 FPS with all low settings and fps cap 300. All my friends in csgo load faster then I do, the only game where I don't mind lagging is in rust, where I'm still getting 25-45 fps on all low settings in rust. If anyone has any help or insight into maybe what I could be doing to have better gameplay I'd love any help! Thanks in advance everybody

I'll assume you must be playing in 4K since I get 60FPS on high with an R5 1600 and a GTX 770 fairly easily,
It does look like something's up with your rig though...

I'll do my best to lend a hand to anyone with audio questions, studio gear and value for money are my primary focus.

I do not play in 4k don't have a 4k monitor, I do 1920x1080 and play all my games on low settings even if they could be played high, I always go low for max fps

What does your task manager look llike while gaming? it's possible you have a bitcoin miner or some such other program installed that's stealing all your processing power. There's something really wrong with your FPS numbers

I do not do much with my pc I'm a filthy casual, when I do have overwatch playing it will say power usage is very high, as well as my chrome browser sometime. But normally when I have games launched, I have only discord and MAYBE chrome running in the background
