Anyone successfully repaired an item of gearbest?

The Torrent

They have the repair thing for 1 year after 45 days.

Has anyone successfully done this before? all i see online is people whining?

Also if i buy e.g a phone from france, if it needs repair do i actually need to pay to get it sent back to france?

Usually you pay for shipping to and from them. Depending on the case.

Depends on the manufacturer's warranty terms.

With gearbest you have to ship to China, which can often cost like $40 for the most basic option so most people won't even try. Not to mention the customs hassles/fees.

GB's policy clearly states you pay shipping to them and they pay the return (if it's confirmed to be a warranty case)
