Did a brownout destroy my gpu??

Yesterday i got frequent brownouts in my area so while gaming my pc lost power nd restarted by itself several times.

I noticed that sometimes my GPU gives me avg 72 fps 74fps nd 79fps in RDR 2. So did the brownout destroy my card??

Specs:

R5 3600

RTX 2060

16gb

CM mwe 750w

That is very close to each other

I would say this is perfectly normal

Also if the GPU was "destroyed" it wouldn't display an image / it would have other problems

Uh... If your GPU is outputting display without artefacts, it is undamaged. If the brownouts damaged it, then you wouldn't be seeing lower framerates. Your GPU would be bricked.

Also, those sound like normal framerates for a 2060 on RDR2, idk what you're talking about... If your fps had dropped dramatically, check your settings again, check temps etc.

How did OP even notice a difference in avg frame rate they are so close to each other 🤣

I thought he benchmarked thrice and he got those results - 72, 74, and 79 - and he's worried cause that's different from what he's used to.

Oh it's worth mentioning that the FPS from the benchmark and the FPS from the game is radically different lol.

Yea I personally never rely on "avg fps" in anything

It's so inconsistent

They are like 3 fps apart

That's normal lol

Ah could it be just a corrupted file or software issue

Dude what are you talking about, do you think that because you got slightly different benchmark numbers all within 10% of each other, your GPU fried by a brownout?

That's now how any of this works.

Incidental power drop most likely won't destroy your hardware, but a power surge will, like getting hit by thunderstrom.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
