Amazon finally embraces the USB - C port

it should be. I'm starting to ignore some things that don't have USB-C, but thankfully everybody is moving over to it. I'm glad Nintendo knew enough to use it for the switch and controllers

I've had more trouble with usb-c devices and the cable staying in than micro. At this point i think i actually prefer micro

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

I dont really understand people clamoring for USB-c.

Sure, it is reversible which is nice. But it wouldnt make me choose one product over another. Half my products have micro USB at this point, and a handful have USB-C, but I don't really care.

Also: Amazon Kindle Fire Tablets have a "user base"? 🤨

i mean its more that there are tablets with usb c and none of my devices are micro b anymore so why should i buy a tablet that would force me to buy a whole set of cable since im too lazy to carry one in my pocket everywhere i go

Bigger battery and faster charging power suppily, but it's not necessary for kindle.

USB-C is the future, no MICRO-USB any more

What do you do with your devices? Do you put pressure on the connector while it's plugged in? Do you connect it to stuff like power banks and then throw it into a backpack? I just don't get it.

People use their devices. You don’t blame the drivers that died in the bridge collapse.

It's great to see that finally most products getting USB C. After all Micro USB is very flimsy and is far easier to break. I remember back when I had a Sony Xperia S and the micro usb port stopped working properly after like a year since I was extensively using the device even when plugged in which has led to the ports demise and it's just a pain the ass having to replace the connector, when you could have used, a better, longer lasting connector from the start.

Though I still can't believe that Logitech still sells 250$ keyboards with Micro USB on them. You'd think after all this time they would have switched considering that keyboard half the price or less feature USB C

Good, now bring it to the Kindle Paperwhite

My $25 Xiaomi electric shaver has USB Type-C for charging, no reason for the Paperwhite not to have one

I've had micro-USB cables and ports die on me.  I'm not hard on my devices.  The port just sucks.  Meanwhile I've never really had issues with lightning or USB-C.  Since getting my first device with USB-C, as I upgrade devices, USB-C is a deciding factor in the purchase (Lightning or USB-C is a given with Apple products), basically, it better have a reversible port.  Reversible connectors and ports are just a major convenience, and they seem to be much sturdier

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

That won't happen by continuously adding standards, though. The introduction of USB-C just reset fee counter for that day.

I wouldn't call it major, but that's subjective. In any case, as I've shown previously, reversibility is not exclusive to USB-C nor requires a game of standard: it's enough to use a reversible (non-standard, but fully compatible) micro-USB male connector.
