What graphics card do I need to run a 240hz 1080p monitor

Hey guys what GPU do I need for the following?

650 bronze semi modular power supply 

1tb pci e 3.0 NVME HPE920

things I got so far.

Building this off a BenQ Zowie XL2540 i was able to get.

What games? If you're talking AAA games like SOTR or cyberpunk you'll probably be looking at the absolute highest end for cards

 

If you're talking esports games, something like a 5700 XT would be the highest I'd go

CS:GO can run on OCed potato so if its that just 5500xt or 5600xt?

Keep in mind, the CPU will be a major limiting factor for 240 FPS. You'll need the best IPC and freq you can get.

What type of CPU were you thinking off, I thought the one I got could handle 240hz.

whats the cpu?

my friend gets close enough 240fps on most games with a 1080ti and a 9700k, however due to poor single core on ryzens compared to intel he couldn't get that high on 3600's

you have to give us a budget otherwise i would just say 2080ti and 10900k

these are maxwell charts 

so anything above a 980ti (or a 1080 or equivalent ) will do so a 5600xt and above will be good for a 240 1080p experience

AMDs equal to a 980Ti/1070 level performance will be a Vega 56 or RX 5600XT but you might want a 5700, 5700XT or higher? (if the game allows even 240fps which it doesn't look like if this graphic is not horribly outdated...)
