blue light filtered glasses as everyday wear

So this is a long term review (a year soon) of the anti blue light filtered coating on the glasses.

Overall, its okay? If i had to pick again i would AVOID it, but i hope it does what it is supposed to do.

UPSIDES:

Filters blue light

DOWNSIDES:

-Virtually every light source has a blue lensflare/ reflection, even the screen im looking at right now (i only see it if i look at white text over dark background and rotate my head, but still.) Most annoying are LED streetlamps at night.

-It changes the colors....  I know that they all say that it doesnt, but it actually does, it is only very slight, so even i only noticed it in about 6 months in.

Most noticable is the sky color, here is an example using fuji films:

Spoiler

Skies: Velvia vs Classic Chrome: Fujifilm X System / SLR Talk ...

If you cant see the photo, the sky has more greenish hue to it.

You can see how slight the change in tone is, but how big the difference actually is. I don't mind it, i actually prefer the classic chrome look, but still annoying to know that i am not seeing the world as it is supposed to be seen.

-As pointed out in the comments by @Letgomyleghoe, on photos the glasses also have blue reflections on them, as espected, when they reflect the blue light so it doesnt reach your eyes, it has to go somewhere.

So yeah overall 5/10, idk how i feel about them. I can't measure the blue light filtering consequences. Maybe i sleep much better thanks to them, i dont know. Annoying defects such as lens flares and tonal shifts drag the score down.

So if you want them maybe only get them as computer glasses, not everyday wear.

The upgrade from normal all coatings to bluelight was only like 20 bucks, but i say that the downsides are worse than the upsides are worth.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

What does that question even mean o.O:D

But yeah imo the Zeiss bluelight coating was a downgrade for my glasses, will avoid it on future glasses

Oh, you got the Zeiss coating. I thought you bought regular glasses. After seeing the "driving" filter, I immediately thought they were shit and just asked for Transitions.

Yeah i bought regular Zeiss glasses, but then decided to get the almost free blue light coating too. And to be fair in 99% of the time it is like wearing normal glasses.

And to be fair to Zeiss, their polarized sunglasses were excellent, just their bluelight is not useful as everyday glasses.

Thankfully mine don't change the color that much, miracle of modern coatings am i right, but yeah the lens flare/reflection happens when glasses are not completely straight at the light source, but instead when i look at them from the corner of the glasses, then there will be an identical copy of the light source next to it, but completely blue colored.

Has to do with the high curvature of my lenses i suppose, but still kinda annoying,

And yeah on the photos, especially with a LED flash my glasses are pretty much solid blue, didn't know modern leds contained that much blue light.

Mostly the same here, but personally the color shift is pretty noticeable for me, it is like going from the Medium Color temperature setting to almost the Warm setting on my Sony TV(I used it to compare how much it changed). It doesn't annoy much, but i end up "correcting" the color shift on the display by making it slightly cooler.

Sky color is my biggest concern with the color tone, all the other things are like actually indistinguishable, cant see the slightest difference, or i havent noticed yet.

But yeah it is easy to get used to it after a while.

You use the Zeiss coating or some other?

Not really sure, I think it was Zeiss but it might be other as I had some issues and exchanged the lenses multiple times before I got the ones on the glasses I'm currently using.
