Dissappointed from AMD for first time.... Going for Intel Build

Wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to get new thermal paste, or a new cooler?

No because the CPU might have been harmed after reaching 93c I guess.

I RMAed and sold everything else except GPU.

I understand but aren't CPU's checked before they are sent to retailers?

So the company is sure all their products will work just fine without checking?

dude, it happens with any manufacturer. Instead of seeking a refund for a defective cooler (which Im sure they would have done) you attempted to jerry rig it, then complain.

Not sure what to tell you.

Well their stock cooler sucks big time anyway...

They could have sold without cooler, or with a 50% better one.

Don't blame your mistakes on the cooler, smh. Plenty of people are running at 70 max under stress test loads. The fact is, your most certainly failed to mount it fully or did not install your chipset driver or what-have-you. When hundreds of thousands of people are running these CPUS with these coolers fine, you are the outlier and (most likely) the root cause ;)

No you need to run 93C for years before degradation becomes noticeable. During internal testing phase CPUs are often heated to say 170C (if not more) to make degradations fast enough to complete the lifespan test in a couple of months.

Yea yea.. I explained the center of the CPU is bent down therefor not attaching the cooler properly...

So stop underestimating me please...

Well I suspected this before going for it...

I thought like "hold on, intel @ 95w sells without cooler, but AMD sells with a cooler?"

And i think ok, it must be a huge one and could be enough for  1-2 months.; (After that was gonna get a liquid cooler)

But it seems like its as small as my 2600's cooler :S

I know... Sounds funny I did not overclock CPU coz it is enough for me @ stocks speeds

Only enabled RAM Profile to 3200Mhz...

It was pretty fast in the begining.

After it reached 93c for first time it was becoming sluggish..

No it's not, Wraith Spire that comes with the 3600X is a step up over the Wraith Stealth that comes with the 2600 and 3600.

Ps. I'm with those who think you had lack of research and troubleshooting before jumping the gun. What you do with your money is not our problem. Blaming company without good reason is. There's too much of that in the internet already.

One side of the issue might have been PBO, or even auto-OC. But it's too late to see that now.

Remember that Intels K-SKU CPUs don't come with stock coolers, unlike AMDs. But basic budget cooler might be enough. And if you have temp issues with that, check out the voltages under load before anything else.

Yea I suspected it could be the B450 Aorus M motherboard issue...

But I troubleshooted very well and what was wrong was the CPU was bent in center towards the inside not allowing the original thermal paste to touch the plenty center of CPU.

Only the edges.

I even added more paste and still got same temperatures :S

With 2600 I never had such problem. Was very happy with it.

Yes I know that the Intel's ones come without coolers... This is what I like about them. They sell without heatsink forcing you to buy something good.

I owned a 8600K bcak in the time with Corsair H115i AIO....

I was very happy with it 20c idle - 55c on heavy games.

I only sold it because I needed money and then gave a try to Ryzen 5 2600 @ Stock cooler.

Was quite happy with 2600 but the 3600X caused me headaches :S

The fan was becoming so noisy every 2-3 seconds then become quiet.

Each time I try to open anything, browser, folder, any application, fan start to run on high speeds.

Causing me headaches  :S

I guess I'd better go with Intel again :)

a faulty CPU thats been bent. (thats what warranty is for?)

switching from a 3600x ( which has decent temps)

to a i5 9600kf which if i remember right is notorious for temps.

and you didnt bother RMAing, instantly switching

plus youre gonna use a STOCK COOLER?

just why?

also i mean if the CPU itself is not the way it should be, then of course not everything else will work fine?

stuff is cool. stuff that has fancy lighting is cooler. stuff that has fancy lighting and works is the coolest.

i game so i know a bit abt gaming tech, not much abt professional tech.

writing this as i finish a 3 hour D2 sesh so excuse anything wrong.
