S20 5G A 'Small Phone?'

 Share

Got a killer deal with EE (UK) for like £37 per month for a new S20 5G (current sale + 25% loyalty discount)

Naturally, I have been watching lots of reviews to get to know the phone a bit and hype myself up to get it (arrives tomorrow!)

All of the reviews I've watched say that this 6.2" mega phone is 'small'!

Coming from the 5.1" of the S7 from 4 years ago, have phones really gotten that big that 6.2" is considered small?

CPU: i7 6700

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: 16GB DDR4 2133 MHZ

Storage: 2TB Crucial SATA SSD + 2TB WD BLUE

for the screen size the phone really feels small to be fair it's because of the bezzel-less design and the amazing Screen To Body ratio

It's only 9mm taller than your old phone. It's not that much bigger from a footprint standpoint.

It's also small in comparison to most other phones on the market.

Times and standards have changed!

And yes, as truecrafting pointed out, the screen-to-body ratio is considerably better than for your S7.  It's still bigger overall, but not as big as the extra 1.1 inches of diagonal screen area would suggest.

Screen size =/= device size

The S7 is 142.4 x 69.6mm

The S20 5G is 151.7 x 69.1mm

So your new phone slimmer by 0.5mm but taller by 9.3mm

The office printer has a screen smaller than my 10" tablet but its somehow a lot more cumbersome to carry around

Awareness is key. Never enough, even in the face of futility. Speak the truth as if you may never get to say it again. This world is full of ugly. Change it they say. The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

Please quote my post in your reply, so that I will be notified and can respond to it. Thanks.

The iPhone 11 Pro is 5.8” so I wouldn’t consider 6.2 small. About normal I would say.
