Just upgraded, now it won't boot...

Gene Sargent

Today the new parts for my pc arrived and I went to work taking it apart and putting it back together, but now it won't post. The motherboard lights up, system fans and cpu Fan goes, but the gpu fans stay still, and no signal gets to the monitor, even when plugged into the motherboard hdmi. Not really sure what's gone wrong. I've tried with and without the gpu installed.

My new parts are:

g.skill 2x8 gb ddr4 3200MHz ram

gigabyte B450 pro wifi motherboard

Ryzen 7 3700x cpu

and asrock rx 5700 xt gpu

the equipment I already had that i'm still using are my drives and a 750W psu, in a case obv

I have no clue what to try to make this work

You wont get any signal out from the motherboard as the R7 3700x has no iGpu

Not sure of if the fans spin on startup for this card but I know that they stop spinning on light loads as they just dont need to

again, you wont get anything without the gpu, make sure its getting enough power and youre actually plugging your cable into the gpu and not the mobo, see ifyou can change the connector type or monitor if possible

It may also take a hot minute for it to retrain itself to the new hardware

CPU: i5-4690k @ 4.4 GHz | RAM: 12GB DDR3 1333MHz | GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB

In the website it says it's ryzen 3000 series compatible, and as for Ram, I have them plugged into DDR4_1 and 2 as shown in this pic
