Looking to get a UPS, any good ones?

So, I've been meaning to get a UPS, but I haven't done it due to laziness and also lack of money. I now have some money to spend. The reason I'm getting a UPS is that storm season in Texas is bad, and my brother was playing his computer the other day when the power went out. When he started his computer after the storm was away and power was back, his computer was acting up. After a hard reset it started working fine, thank God. This has scared me a bit, so I'm planning on getting a UPS so that we have time to shut down the computers in the event of a power outage. Keep in mind, we do normally turn them off when a storm hits, but Texas storms are like jump scares sometimes, popping out of no where, and they can hit so hard sometimes that the power just goes out. So it was one of those random storms that took out the power.

Anyway, we have two computers:

I would like to have at least 8 to 10 minutes of run time under full load, other than that, I'm not sure what else is required. 

Our computers currently run off power strips attached to 10 to 25 foot power cords. (I think they're 10 to 25 feet.) Reason being is we live in the basement and all the power cords are on the ceiling. A UPS with a large power cord would be nice. Also, I've seen some UPS's might need an adapter? If so, please include that with your suggestion if you can. Thanks.

You can find it at a better price on eBay, but you should also check your power requirements.

I just bought a rack-mounted 2200VA (1980W) UPS as New-old-stock for about $500 on a special deal, but most gamers' power needs don't go much above 1500W, so look for a 1800-2000VA size UPS. Make sure it's either new or lightly used, and if used, look to see if the seller specified whether the batteries were recently replaced or refreshed or not.

UPS don't usually have large power cords. Check the hold up time for your PSU and get a UPS that has takeover time LESS than said hold up time.

Will I need to buy two for each computer or can this run them fine by itself? 

Also, will it work if the computers are connected to it through a power strip with an extension cord?

Depending on the workload... you might need two-- one for each system.
