Gigabyte GTX 1660 OC getting hot !

Didarul Hossain Rafi

I use bitFenix enso as casing , gpu: 1660 OC, and ryzen 3 1200 ;

on idle mood my gpu run on 50° temp. (non AC room/ around 25-29 degree room temp)
i use msi afterburner fan curve 40% and it reduces temp 50 to 46 degree.
while gaming gpu temp increase around 75-79 degrees 80% usage.
is it okay ?

any recommendation on msi fan curve ?

i have 1 intake and 2 exhaust fan.

Another thing 2600 and 3300x have same price in my region.

I do normal gaming (apex, R6, SOTTR, COD warzone) but want fast apps opening and all.

Which one will be better ?

If you only game and get max 79 degrees, everything is fine.

But if putting on a higher load there might be problems...

as long as it doesn't go over 80, it's fine. you can set the fan curve to 100% above 70 or 75.

3300x would be better, but what motherboard do you have?

Also I'd prefer 3300X to 3600 if only gaming.

not great, but it might work. you'll have to update to the latest bios first. what model exactly is it?

that board is not really ideal, IMHO. Borderline rubbish.

About the GPU temps: why don't you undervolt your graphics card? :)

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

Heard in few games 2600 has better smoothness than 3300x !

Give it a shot. :) Undervolt both the CPU and GPU, to generate less heat.

I Can't help with the CPU, as I do not know the BIOS of your motherboard. But for the GPU Part:

Turing UV tutorial via MSI afterbürner 8:38: [link]

Resulting temperatures, fan speed, wattage: [link]

For me, it seems: UV-ing Turing is purely beneficial. Apart from reducing temperatures, noise and power, it can also (at least theoretically) prolong the life expectancy of GPU.

Feel free to try it, the worst that can happen, that your PC crashes and you have to re-start.
