RX 570 vs GTX 970

I found a RTX 570 for $94, and a GTX 970 for $110. According to userbenchmark, the GTX 970 is 10% faster, but only in certain categories. The RX 570 is also much newer. So I'm asking, is the extra $16 worth it, or should I go with the RX 570?

Don't use userbenchmark, I would say that the 570 is better, it is slightly slower on average but newer games that use newer APIs(DX12/Vulkan) will often work much better on it than on the 970, it got actually 4GB of VRAM(and not 3,5) and it's cheaper. Also you should be able to find one for less than $90 quite easily(in the US at least), other options that might be worth looking for are the RX480(faster than both) and RX470(slightly slower than the 570) that would perform close to each other while being cheaper.

Nvidia Maxwell drivers aren't really better than AMD Polaris ones.

RX 570 wins in my opinion. The 970 has a lackluster memory configuration, with half a gigabyte being just unusable. More modern is s plus, but in terms of performance they're near identical, and with the vast majority of 570 models requiring less power than most 970 models, it's got some advantages.

The fact that it's cheaper is the main deciding factor.
