I think I'll keep listening to music on my phone when I'm out.

Eh. Just use your phone and a Chord Mojo, have the same support for everything, and a similar distortion and power output with the Mojo. But the Mojo has a better dynamic range.  Plus a phone can do phone things.

The article also doesn't mention other supported file formats. Wonder if it does DSD. Also kinda interesting that it uses an FPGA, Which Chord Electronics uses alot in it's DAC's.

I'm gonna stick with my somewhat "portable" Huawei P20 + Chord Hugo 2 + Sennheiser HDV820 setup for now, unless I find a DAP with better specs.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Fiio M15 is with better specs, dual AK4499

But the Chord Mojo has an FPGA DAC, so you can't really compare them without measurements.

Also, the M15 is $1500, while the Chord Mojo is $400-$450. So again, no point comparing the two.

If you were comparing the M15 to the Hugo 2, then the Hugo 2 is ever so slightly better. Both have an inaudible noise floor, the Hugo 2 has less distortion (0.0001% vs the 0.0004% of the M15), the Hugo 2 has a better S/N ratio and the Hugo 2 has a stronger output when comparing SE to SE. The Hugo 2 also has a much lower output impedance so will deal with impedance dips/peaks better.
