Anyone know why AMD's old laptop CPUs are so inefficient?

So, I've got an HP laptop with an A10-9600P and I was just interested to know if anyone knew why they are so power inefficient, I can barely scrape 3 and a half hours of battery from mine, is it because of the size of the architecture they used or could it be something to do with the extra onboard graphics?

Because the design is from 2011 when 3 hours was impressive. Modern Ryzen models easily get over 10 hours

2. AMD's architecture isnt as efficient as Intel's counterpart in the same period in FX period.

old Intel laptops have the same problem. I am using one from 2011 where 3 hours idle was considered good.

3 hours back when it's new? Cuz you can buy 8800P laptops brand new today but not 2nd gen Intel

Bad architecture and also maybe because the laptop battery sucks for a 15w cpu.

Low end doesn't get much love in that part.

Agreed, I have an old i3-3217U laptop that got about an hour less than my A10 laptop

And let's not forget, if that laptop has some age that battery's health isn't getting any better.

HP laptops, more specifically more budget ones, are notorious for really shit battery life. They’re basically thrown in there to get you three hours of usage if you aren’t doing anything particularly noteworthy. 

That being said, a lot of the Bulldozer-based laptop parts weren’t the best in terms of power efficiency.
