Good price for a 15-inch 2015 Macbook Pro?

In the market for a laptop and decided I wanted to get another Macbook since I had a good experience with my last one. After doing some digging, it looks like the 2016-2019 models had the infamous "butterfly keyboard" that's prone to breaking so my options are to buy a brand new one for a ridiculous amount of money (and possibly lose support early if apple handles the ARM move like they handled the switch from PPC to Intel), or grab a 2015 since they came with the old style keyboards. I've checked around and some reputable mac resellers have them listed from $1200 USD and up which seems like a lot for a 5 year old machine, especially when these same resellers are selling 2018 models for just a few hundred more. What kind of price range should I try and find for a base model 15 inch 2015 mbp?

MSI Prestige 15

i5 10210u - 8GB DDR4 2666MHz - GTX 1650 Max-Q - 500GB SSD

Hinges still intact!

No more than $1000. If it's the really high end model, that can be stretched a little bit.

The neighborhood of $1200 seems to be the going rate though; the 2015 MBPs hold their value fairly well.

Apple won't move to ARM quickly they'll likely keep it in cheaper, lower end laptops if they even do it so they can get everything working properly and 3rd parties can develop versions of the apps.

Could you look into apple finance? Is a decent deal as far as options go.

Well, look at why you're looking at a 2015 model and realize that you're far from the only one to want a non-new mac but that doesn't have a broken keyboard :)

High demand will keep prices up.

I could, I would just be really really bitter if my $4k laptop stopped being supported early. It might be unlikely but they did this once before so who knows.

Lol what you putting in it for $4K? The base 16” MBP is 2300 and that has enough grunt for most people.
