F@H Web Client Dark Skin with PPD comparison by GPU / WU

Go to solution Solved by LAR_Systems,

HI everyone,  Quick update.

There was some server updates today to deal with server resource issues so sorry if you  were impacted by some strangeness like WU averages etc. being a little strange while this occurred.

In addition to the cleanup you will now find that for GPU projects the Atoms and Cause is reported on the slots.

Atoms and Cause coming to CPU slots soon.

image.png.96a2a24471ee3392c37e18b8310adc99.png

The PPD indicator has been updated so there is a +/- 10% tolerance for the red or green indicators coming on for when you GPU slot is operating within this "Average" range making it a more useful indication as to when PPD is out of the ordinary.

Project pages on the database site have been updated to show the Atoms, Core and project branch status of projects.

image.png.d3fcd4c830ec61537d13dc93b7450eae.png

And CPU based project pages (link found in the CPU slots in the web client) now contain the BETA charts for PPD-PLC (PPD per logical processor) as that system builds data and is under review.

image.thumb.png.03ed6ca321e14602de92ef37145c6c2c.png

These client based updates will trickle in to the wild over the next couple hours and take effect with a refresh of the page when they do.

I like the LTT colour scheme you're using. Is it possible to make it as a theme for the advanced client? I'm not even sure if you can use custom themes in the advanced client or if you can only use the built in F@H themes.

I would totally rock an LTT skin on the advanced client. Mot of them are kinda poo-poo as it is.

@LAR_Systems thanks for letting me know whats good for now, give us a shout out in the F@H and BOINC channel in discord if you ever release it for FF or other browsers. I already talked to one of the mozilla team about it and they would be excited to see a dark extension for F@H since some of them run the client

It decided to reduce my poor GPU to insignificant dashes... :(

Was fine half an hour ago and neither a reload nor close/reopen window works

So apparently it only is showing my results for the system you log into, and not all systems? or do I need to let it run for a bit so it gathers the data?

It shows "current performance vs known" so it obviously only appears while actually folding.

I think the GPU performance might be having a problem at the moment. It was working for me but now it is just showing this all the time.

GPU Performance: A Geforce RTX 2060 folding on this project is new to the folding.lar.systems database and will be available in the next 4-6 hours for performance comparison.

The project is 14201 and it is in the database.

It can only do what the F@H web client can do, so it only see's the system it's running on directly and communicates with the local F@H API on that system.

Something like the advanced client where it can talk to multiple hosts won't be possible in the a web extension directly as the extension has to have pre-defined permissions for URLs/IPs that are predictable.

That said... a way down the road goal could be something like... you run the client on each of your folding boxes logged in or with a key in the extension that could send the updates to my API server and give you remote view / control of each host... but then I better have a sponsor because the bandwidth X the number of F@H would be brutal :)

The GPU DB calculations hit a snag last night when some PPD values got to big for the data type they were held in... so yes... I too blame the RX580s ;)   All fixed now... client should be better today.

This looks like it's possible, through my quick test resulted in crashing F@H advanced client ;)

Looks like there is just a theme directory for the F@H AC, copy one, rename it... restart F@H and it shows up in the advanced client Theme dropdown... reverse engineering the assets and how it works exactly will need to come later once I have the extension working better and in Firefox.

I'm still getting "folding on this project is new to the folding.lar.systems database" .

RTX 2060, project 14201 is in the database now that it's working again but it's not showing up in GPU performance comparison on web control.

Hi the results on the DB site may appear faster in terms of server/client caching than the ones that show up in the web client for cases where you are the first user to submit the GPU/WU combination.

In an hour or so the web control should update the GPU stats with the information in the DB as the caching rules expire.

I set some of these caching policies very aggressively for now until I can get a baseline for server performance and users.

Please check if it's showing now, if not I will take a closer look at your GPU/WU and the information you left me (which is very helpful btw).

Cheers

@LAR_Systems Nope still not working.

When I loaded the extention on Tuesday everything was working just fine, the GPU performance comparison was working. I was the 1st to get RTX 2060 into the database and it showed up right away. All I've been getting for the last few days are project 14201 WU's and I had the the web control page open all day yesterday with "?nofade=true" so there should be a lot of data for that project.

i just noticed there's no normal RTX 2080 yet in the database, so i'll let my main rig crunch some WU's the coming days.

pretty excited how it stacks up to a 2080 Super. those go for petty cheap secondhand nowadays.

first result should be a bitoff tough since i'm still browsing on he thing.

Found the issue if you look it's how F@H IDs the card and me trying to fix it on the DB.

So F@H card ID for your GPU is  "Geforce RTX 2060" with a lower case F...   So yesterday morning I think I saw... this lower case F displaying on my site in the GPU list... got triggered and corrected it toe GeForce and in doing that... your card did not match the lookup anymore.

I have updated the API to ignore case when pulling up the records and you should be getting comparison data again as your client side cache clears.

@LAR_Systems

I cleared out cache in Chrome. I have also updated F@H to v7.6.13 in case that was the problem and it's still reports my GPU's as "Geforce RTX 2060"  with a lower case F don't know why.

The changes have had some effect. The web control page has changed the GPU Performance now says -

GPU Performance: A folding on this project is new to the folding.lar.systems database and will be available in the next 4-6 hours for performance comparison.

No mention of GPU type.

I'll leave Web control open for a few hours in no sleep mode and see what happens.

Please refresh this morning I reworked how the cards are looked up to try and account for your case and there were two extension version updates yesterday as a result.  Currently build is v1.0.2 looks like your on  v1.0.1

The effort was to decouple the name shown to you, and the sometimes odd/wrong GPU type / Name in the F@H database.

This way I might be able to correct the names for display only while F@H can keep sending me the funky ones from the client.

@LAR_Systems still the same with v1.0.2. I've had the Web control open for the last few hours it's completed a few WU's in that time and nothing has changed.

I posted in the Folding Community Board to try to see if anyone else has the same problem. You don't have to spend your time trying to get this to work just for me, but if you want to try and find the problem anyway I'll help in anyway I can.
