corsair vengeance 3600mhz cl18

Go to solution Solved by Rancidpunk,

The D kit is approved for these platforms - Intel 100 Series,Intel 200 Series,Intel 300 Series,Intel X299,AMD 300 Series,AMD 400 Series,AMD X570

The Z kit is approved for these platforms - Intel 200 Series,Intel 300 Series,Intel X299,AMD X570

saw 2 corsair vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) 3600mhz cl18 kits with a 13 dollars price difference

1. CMK16GX4M2D3600C18

2. CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18

saw that the difference is the letters "z" and "d"

what does it mean?

I don't know - Corsair will get round to updating it once they have tested it on that platform. The D kit looks to be the more general use kit with the Z kit possibly better for overclocking on higher end motherboards but don't quote me on that!

Just gonna say this

The "approved" only means it was tested on that platform and it worked but that doesn't mean that the dimm wont work with different platforms
