RAM usage always at 60% even at idle

Hey Guys

So a few days ago, I updated my Laptop from Windows 10 1607 to Windows 10 1909. Since then i have many issues with my laptop. The RAM usage stays over 60% even at idle. It hurts the gaming performance significantly as i play esports games with it. It has 6GB ram(Very unusual config). I had experienced several times crash after that update. Like when i use OBS or XSplit(Vcam too). It really annoys me. It doesn't happen on my other Systems. so guys, help me solving this issue.

Laptop specs

Lenovo Ideapad 310

Intel Core i5 7200u

6GB ram

Geforce 920m

1tb hdd

My other pc(this doesn't have this issue)

Ryzen 5 3600X

16GB ram

RTX 2070 super

Have you identified a service or process that is responsible for the RAM usage? You can find that out through the resource monitor or task manager.

Check resource manager or task manager, and maybe do a full system virus scan.

As Jet_ski has said, use task manager, whilst you're in task manager also check the start up programs as those will eat your RAM if there's a lot enabled. It is also worth mentioning though that 6GB of RAM is not a great deal, so that's why you're not going to get this issue on your other system that has 10GB more, on my 16GB desktop my idle usage is anywhere between 3-4GB, so that does set it around 60% of 6GB, my 8GB laptop also idles at around around 3-4GB too

Desktop - i5-9600KF @4.8GHz all core, MSI Z390-A PRO, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz, MSI GTX 1660S OC 6GB, WD Blue 500GB M.2 SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD

Laptop - ASUS ZenBook 14 with ScreenPad, i7-1165G7, Xe iGPU 96EU, 16GB Octa-Channel 4200MHz, MX450 2GB, 512GB SSD with 32GB Optane

Old Laptop 1 - HP Pavilion 15, A10-9600P, R5 iGPU, 8GB, R8 M445DX, 2TB HDD

Old Laptop 2 - HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart, i3-3217U, Intel HD 4000, 4GB, 1TB HDD

iPhone XR - 128GB

I have licensed mcafee(i got it for free tho. So why not) & scanned it. No viruses found. In task manager, ram usage is always above 60%. I just forgot to paste a screenshot of task manager to this post lol. Even i tried to uninstall several apps but it's of no use. It didn't work.

No suspicious activity found on it. I forgot to upload a screenshot of task manager while uploading this post lol. Everytime cpu, drive, gpu etc. Stays below 10% except ram. It always stays above 60% after that update. I have a old pc with 4gb ram which stays around 30% utilization.

I know to manage task manager. No startup apps except dolby tray icon & conexant tray icon is enabled. Before the ram usage was significantly less. But after that update, it has high ram usage.

Yeah but my 10yr old laptop with 4gb ram has about 35% usage. That's why it seems a bit suspicious

Here's a screenshot

Have you checked which processes are using the most RAM with your 10GB system? That should tell you where the problem is.

Bruh. I don't have a 10gb system. I meant i have a pc with 10gb more ram than my laptop has. And no. I didn't find anything suspicious. I'll reset my laptop & try.
