How does someone get banned on this site?

Just how bad must someone be that they banned on this site? I mean I could understand if someone is advertising a gambling site or something like that. But otherwise I have no. Your thoughts?

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: Gigabyte gtx 1660 Super oc 6g
Mobo:MSI b450 tomahawk max

RAM: 32gb ddr4 lpx vengeance 3200mhz

Storage: WD sn550 1tb, Baracuda 2TB HDD (*In use), Hitachi 2tb HDD, WD 0.5tb HDD (both HDD knackered)

PSU: cxm 450

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

They probably have the 20 strike rule, or the more posts you have the more strikes your allowed to accumulate

Repeated violations of the Community Standards.

 

The big no-no's that will maybe perhaps most likely get you banned:

  • No harassment, discrimination or abuse of any kind.
    • This includes insults and accusations (fanboy, troll, shill etc).
  • No pornography, sexually explicit or illegal content.
  • Only one account per person, except with explicit permission from staff.

Other ones will likely get you friendly warnings, unless you keep up the violations (IIRC it was 10 warnings? Gonna go digging around to see if I can find that post).

0 point warnings also exist for minor things that are visible to moderators on a profile,mostly used to establish if there's a pattern. (IE, keep arguing about things that are specifically against CoC)

Seems to be worded so that if X accuses Y of being a fanboy, troll, or a shill, X receives the ban, not Y. Basically, try to keep disagreements cordial instead of disrespecting or attaching labels to the opposing party. (I mean, it is a forum, not an elementary school's playground.)

Every case is different and as such is treated appropriately to that situation.

We [the moderation team] do not take to banning members lightly and so we prefer to be as diligent as possible. There are clear cut cases but most of the time when we decide on issueing a ban it is usually discussed first internally before it is done. We do try to take preventive actions before issuing a ban to give the offending member a chance to redemption. Those that do get banned are banned for good reason and as mentioned there are always two sides to a story and the community never sees the reasons why we ban a member, but in most cases that it does accure it is because of that member's refusal to adhere to rules or other common sense behavior resulting in disruption to the community.
