AMD Cuts Price of 3900X in response to Comet Lake

AMD have officially dropped the price of the Ryzen 9 3900X in response to the launch of the Intel 10900K.

Is this enough to keep people flocking to team red? Gaming performance is certainly in the Intel camp but productivity still lies with AMD for now.

considering the price to performance, the 3900x would indeed be a great CPU. heck if only considering the productivity with this chip Its so much better than the 10900k. heck, considering what you will require to run the 10900k, might as well get the 3950x. Like wtf is the price of the board, and the requirement of 360mm AIO MINIMUM. 

 

other than that, if you are plainly on the gaming and want to get the best of the best in gaming without considering the value for money, then 10900k it is.

Or just get a 80 litre tank of LN2 and refill every week. Might stop it thermal throttling too

I think they will price 4900x the same as 3900x was before this price cut. Also, hope they will do the same for their other 3k ryzen cpus.

This is about the time that AMD should be cutting costs on their CPUs anyway, if they're following the trend of their last CPUs. If I recall, there have historically been small price drops leading up to their next gen (the 3600 is already available for about $25 less than launch price, has been for a while) with their Ryzen 7 CPUs seeing this adjustment last.

 

What is not as certain is what will happen to their Ryzen 3 CPUs. The 3100 and 3300X came out so recently, and will have been on the market for such a short time when 4th gen hits, so I'm not sure if they'll see replacements or price drops anytime soon.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

I've noticed this trend more and more recently. Something is released for $499 & it's still £499 or sometimes more.

I know the pound has devalued but it's still not 1:1.
