I'm going to be needing a laptop soon, so I installed elementary OS 6 on the old laptop I inherited from my partner. I wanted to Hackintosh it, but I wasn't sure about the battery efficiency (even here it only lasts less than 2 hours)... so this is the closest thing I could do I suppose.

I like a minimal style. Wife's files upper left, mine lower right. Use Steam/Epic/etc. for game management. Have most important or most used folders on desktop. Background changes based on mood/interest (NASA/space images, Critical Role art, video game art). Second monitor has nothing on desktop.

Also, the Chromebook's Snipping Tool equivalent can't capture the screen's full 1366x768 width - it only gets 1365x767 for some reason.

Other than handing over control of my wallpaper to Bing (I tend to leave it as the default, otherwise - I mean, I look at the thing for about ten seconds before launching whatever program I'm planning to use, so what's the point, right? And to be honest, some of the photos it uses are genuinely cool), my desktop is about the same as it's always been - my commonly-used programs along the left, and not much else.

 

The 'SE' in Fallout 4 SE and Skyrim SE stands for 'Script Extender'. Those two launch my modded games. For those who don't know, you have to launch a specific executable to enable many mods in those games, so you can't just launch them from your Steam library. I wouldn't have those shortcuts there otherwise...

 

Also, I actually quite like Edge. Leave me alone!

Uhh that's 5120x 1440.

It needs to be 5760 x 1080.

Well the thing is scaling gets very bad.

Like warping can occur and over cropping.
