speed fan can't control my CPU fan

I finally set up a fan curve yesterday with speed fan and everything worked great my temps were good and my system was almost silent at idle. however, when I went to turn my pc on this morning my case fans work just fine with the curve I've set but my CPU fan/heat sink is now uncontrollable even though it was last night. its also on max RPM and crazy loud. what could have caused this?

 

edit: my motherboard is an Asus P8B75-V if that helps
