Upgrading to 32GB RAM?

Hello,

I currently have 16GB Corsair 3200 MHz memory in this system and have been wondering If the upgrade is worthwhile. I game almost every day, on the latest titles and run games at 3440x1440 whilst streaming to twitch too. I'm not sure If that last part is relevant but the more information the better, hopefully.

Could anyone offer me any input please? Thanks.

If you feel like 16 gigs is not enough

Go for 32 gigs

Other than that for most cases 16 gigs will be more than enough

when you game, open task manager. is your ram filled up to more than 90%? if yes, you'll benefit from the upgrade. if not, you won't

Can you see through your side panel?

Do those two naked DIMMS make you angry?

If so, fill em up for aesthetics.

I've opened up a game, straight away I'm sat at 80% in the menu and that's before OBS/Streaming.

Sounds like you should get more ram.

That said, that send to be unusually high usage for just a game. Is Minecraft or something?

can you go to processes and sort by usage? i have 16gb of ram as well, but my games don't eat up that much ram.

from the chart it looks like you were at 80% even before starting the game.

I hit that 90% in Modern Warfare 2019 with OBS running

I'm now sat at 82% in Satisfactory with OBS running.

If you are getting stutters or bad frame time or your not endcoding well get 32 gigs

If you are happy with your stream quality and the performance stay how you are

Simple ;)

Yeah I think you'd benefit from upgrading RAM, it's also not about how much memory you have free it's how much data you can fit into RAM cache to reduce disk reads while gaming.  1-2 modern type games can easily fill up the disk cache on 16Gb.
