3600 only reaching 3.9GHz, Memory cant go over 3200MHz

Why do I achieve only 3.9GHz  with 3600 CPU? Does everyone get that kind of speed with amd's stock cooler? The max I can go is 4.05GHz and sometimes it may even crash, very rarely like in a week or so but it happens.

Ik, change the cooler... But that's not the point here :/

With "advanced mode" or gaming mode in bios for a better performance i still get only 3.9GHz. If I was to change cpu cooler, would i see an automatic bump in frequency? (thermal paste was added anew)

2nd thing. I noticed that I can not overclock my memory (RAM) to a higher frequency of 3200MHz unless I overclock CPU beforehand... unless CPU is 4.0GHz+, i can not do more than 3333MHz on Memory...

so does a cpu frequency has anything to do with memory frequency?

im using viper kit from patriot 3733MHz and asus tuf gaming b450 motherboard  (i can go beyond 3733MHz, but only with 4.05GHz on CPU)

on all cores thats normal

especially if it is with a stock cooler

probably decrease the temps i recommend a hyper 212

Some misinformation here, first off 3.9ghz is not a normal all core OC on a 3600, though the stock cooler is probably holding him back, secondly the 212 evo is honestly not a great buy since prices have shifted up I believe the arctic freezer xtreem is much better overall, lastly b450 motherboards can do much higher than 3200mhz on the ram, I currently have a 1600af (2600 equivalent) running with ddr4 3466 cl14, the 3600 should have no issues doing 3600mhz ddr4 on a decent b450 board.

The memory issues might have to do with your motherboard bios, and you'll want to get a decent cooler if you want to clock the cpu up, the wraith stealth really isn't suited for that kind of thing. I'd suggest the arctic freezer xtreem for $35, try getting the latest bios update for your board and report back here.

I can guarantee that B450 chipset is a very capable and powerful, well.. chipset.

As i said above i can go over 3733MHz with ease, but what's weird about that is that cpu must be above 4GHz

for the price of 100€ it is really superb, good audio chip, and everything is cooled on mobo properly.

but i was thinking if i have to push cpu to 4.0ghz+ to achieve higher frequency on samsung's b-die ram, could it something with motherboard?

but since i can go up and up w/o problem once cpu is at 4ghz+ i think i can eliminate thought of being mobo one of the problems, right?

For that price you probably could have gotten one of the MSI MAX boards which are much better than the Asus tuf, also are you sure that you have b-die? The 3733 patriot viper steel kit is cjr/djr as far as I know. The mobo is most likely the issue when it comes to your memory speeds, check for latest bios.

I've bought mobo one year ago, where MAX hasnt gotten out, of course MSI offers quality motherboards, but at that time ASUS was a way to go for me, because it had good audio chip and a familiar BIOS, especially when MSI decided to minimise or downgrade their appearance of their BIOS, i didnt feel like going back to 2010's route...

BIOS is fully updated since what was feb? i think and i thought BIOS helped here until i noticed it wasnt problem in a BIOS. Tho it is hard for me to tell since i do not have any other motherboard on my hands to test out, but these rams from patriot are pretty damn good, in programs shows it's B-DIE others say hynix chips so idk really, but they are good for pushing through. also max variant still uses ALC892 instead of S1200A  so no way im going to change the mobo for that
