Yes you can but no you should not do it as it's not really made to handle the thermal output of an i7. Best is an i3. My suggestion is to just get a used dell that has an i5 or i7 instead if you need more cpu power as most cpu's that work for it aren't too cheap and an i3 isn't much of an upgrade.

 

What's the current problem that you need to upgrade?
