Laptop - 1660 Ti vs 2070maxq 80w

Hey!

I've decided to purchase the EU equivalent of the mag-15, however i am still unsure which graphics card i should be going for. I have the option of getting a 1660 Ti or getting the 2070maxq with a tdp of 80w. There's a 375€ price gap between the two cards, but if the performance increase is noticeable, i wouldn't be opposed to spending the extra. As far as what games i play, it will mostly be WoW and LoL. I rarely play the newest AAA titles, but it does occur.

I'd also really like to know what the % performance increase there is between the two. I haven't been able to find a comparison with the 80w one, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome!

Thanks!

80w

1660Ti and 2070MQ in this model can boost to 115W

If you can afford 2070MQ, go for it. If can't, the 1660Ti option is still decent (faster than most 2060 laptops with tweaks)

Desktop specs:

Spoiler

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Montech Century 850W Gold Tecware Nexus Air (Black) ATX Mid Tower

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16ACH6

Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 8+128

there should NOT BE ANY MORE THAN A 200 price diff between the 2

the 2070 is way overprcied

of you really want performance go with it but i would get the 1660

stuff is cool. stuff that has fancy lighting is cooler. stuff that has fancy lighting and works is the coolest.

The retailer capped it at dp 80w tdp, but is this something easily tweaked?

Do you know if the performance increase is significant?

It is definitely expensive, but the laptop is on sale right now, so i wouldn't be opposed to overspending when i am already saving quite a bit.

Thanks!

eh. the performance on a 1660ti is enough for 3A 1080p.

another thing, if the 2070is at 80TDP, thats the low power version, its clocks are worse than the 1660ti.

get the 1660ti

The model i plan to purchase does not come with 115w TGP, my retailer does not boost it unlike eluktroniks.

If you happen to know how you can tweak/flash it, i’d appreciate some advice!
