Upgrading ram sodimms on laptop

Hi everyone.

I have a Medion eraser p15601 and at idle it shows 30% to 40% RAM used. I plan to buy another ram module but I have two questions.

1. Why is ram usage so high? (I know chrome uses a lot)

2. Do I have to match brands of ram module or just size and speed?

I've attached pictures of the Samsung RAM currently installed and I plan to buy some crucial 8gb 2666.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best to read the manual for memory upgrade options. Should answer all your questions.

Your memory usage looks fine. You just only have 8GB to work with.

It does have an empty RAM slot and can handle up to 32GB total but i was just wondering if ill have any problems using a different band in each slot?

Well there should be a QVL list for memory support...

All else fails, try to find another stick to match the one you have already to prevent issues.
