Should I wait a month before upgrading CPU?

So I was thinking about upgrading lately (it's been a long time coming - i5-2500k! ) but seeing that new CPUs are about to be released, should I wait until then?

 

It's mainly for gaming so I had my eyes on a 9700k.

2) you've waited this long. what's another few months?

3) don't buy a 9700k. it's basically an admitted mistake by intel.

Ryzen 4000 series is expected around September-October according to some rumors. Do you want to wait that long or do you have the money now?

Intel 9th gen and 10th gen - ehh, sort of useless seeing current Ryzen options.

Damn, I thought both intel's and AMD's new CPU's were at the end of this month. September is a little long to wait.

I'm was getting stuttering issues with Kingdom Come and COD Warzone barely even runs. What's the best options right now?

Edit: Should probably mention that my GPU is a 1070 so I don't think it's that causing the issues. The old 2500k with its 4 little cores must be holding me back there.
