I dont understand 7.1 at all :(

So i want to buy the Hyperx Cloud II or the Hyperx Cloud Alpha S, but i have a few questions:

I have as a mobo: msi x470 gaming pro and it has a 7.1 integrated soundcard. If I were to buy the Cloud IIs which has a 7.1 dongle, should i use the 7.1 dongle or my mobos soundcard? I heard that if i use the headsets without the dongle i cant use the detachable mic and i dont want that.

And if i were to buy the Cloud Alpha S(which doesnt have 7.1) or to use the Cloud IIs without the 7.1 dongle and use my mobos 7.1 soundcard how does it work? do i need to activate something or its just plug and play?
