Games stuttering on a new high-end gaming PC.

Hello Community,

 

I have the below Specs which I recently assembled:

 

i7 9700K on Asus Prime z390m Plus, AIO 240mm

Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super Gaming

2x8GB DDR4 - XMP enabled @ 3000mhz

Seasonic Focus FM Gold 650W 80+

1 nvme + 2 SSDs

Display: Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ @165hz

 

I get this annoying stuttering on some games like BO4, MW2 (new game), NFS Heat, Two point hospital, Planet Zoo.

These games run fine with no issues: Overwatch, The division 2, AC: Odyssey, TW: Three Kingdoms, RDR2, Frostpunk, Anno 1800

 

Temps are fine, all drivers and bios are up to date, Benchmarks getting expected results on all components.

Tried fresh windows install on all SSDs and NVME and games installed on different SSD as well and still have the same issue.

 

on a side note, stutter happens and coil whine disappears in that millisecond. 

 

Gsync settings: No change from default except vsync on in NCP and off in game.

 

Most of stutter games I play now and its very frustrating to a have worth thousands and not getting the optimal experience.

it can be because your i7 9700k has only 8 threads and games you play use more than 8 threads. 

 

what are the temperetures of the cpu and gpu?

try to clean install windows

 

is your ram in slots 2 and 4, and not next to each other?

I doubt they require more than 8 cores.

CPU around 50s

GPU high 60s

cores and threads are different things. your cpu has 8 cores and 8 threads. for examaple ryzen 7 3700x has 8 cores and 16 threads and still run cooler than your i7 9700k.

 

some games even satrt to use 10 threads. after new consoles will launch, it takes around 6 months to year for games starting to use 16 threads

My 6700k run those Games with ease

I doubt his CPU causes any Problems.

that is what i figured but wanted to point it out,

 

 

 

so its probably not your psu and ram.

 

have you overclocked the cpu and gpu? try to oc them and report back.

@ OP turn Vsync off.

Disable Game Mode/Game DVR if you haven't already.

Try moving your RAM sticks to slots 2 and 4, and then trying with both XMP turned on and off, and see if you notice any difference in performance.

What clock speed do your 9700K and 2080S run at while gaming?

Yeah nah. If it was that, Division 2 would've stuttered long before MW or BO4, as it's way more CPU intensive from my experience.

Yes, OC and with no OC same issue

Yeah nah. If it was that, Division 2 would've stuttered long before MW or BO4, as it's way more CPU intensive from my experience.

CPU Default @ 4.6ghz, ocing it to 5.00ghz didn't do anything

GPU: 1950mhz @core, and 8500mhz @ memory.

Did you get to the bottom of your problem? I have just bought this board and I’m having the same issues, I know everything else works fine as it was all in my old machine, just changed the MB and CPU and the stuttering started.
