Do I need to replace 1R0 inductor if the casing is broken?

A GTX 970 that I have burned out a MOSFET, though I also noticed an inductor next to it seems to be busted, but I'm not sure if it actually needs to be replaced or if it's only cosmetic.

I would say Cause & effect here.... I would strongly recommend replacing it if you plan on replacing the mosfet

Interesting. What would cause that sort of damage on the inductor? Also, there appears to be a lot of various 1R0 inductor models, any ideas of how I can find out which one to get?

I wouldn't have a clue which you would need. Not my area of knowledge. Just know that they both work in the power path so seems related to me, but others more knowledgeable may be able to 100% tell you everything you need.
