Why should I buy high a high end keyboard or mouse?

I just ordered the parts for my first pc. I have a ryzen 5 300 and a Radeon 5600XT and 16GB ram. I don’t understand why I should spend 50+ USD on peripherals. I have a Logitech M510 that has been working fine for gaming on my laptop, and while I understand why you would want to spend a bit of money on a keyboard (the keyboards where I work are shit and I hate typing on them), I don’t get why people spend $50+ on a keyboard or mouse. What’s the benefit?

A mechanical keyboard is just nice to have, they start at like $30 now

 

a better mouse is probably recommended for the better sensor among possibly having more buttons and being able to easily make macros for some automation.

I payed 160€ for my Keyboard on release. Didnt regret it one second.

So there’s not really any advantage to spending $150 on a keyboard over spending about ~$50? Other than things like RGB and addressable macros?

A lot of the cheaper keyboards will have that anyways, or you can just use some third party software that works with any keyboard.

 

Also there are 60% mechanical keyboards if you want something really compact, certainly wouldn't spend more than $100 for a keyboard in any event.

If you want one that feels and sounds nice you are going to have to spend upwards of $150 for a keyboard. Or you have to be willing to mod.

Advantage? Not realy. Its more a Quality of Life matter. Highend mechanical keayboards just feel awesome.
