Which option is the best from the above

1080p 240hz:$449 AUD

1440p 144hz:$469 AUD

4K 60hz:$329 AUD

“ best”?  Best for what?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Personally I'd go for 1440p. Good balance of visual quality and fps-capability. It's also a nice upgrade to have the extra desktop real estate, and the higher pixel count of 4k can only really be utilised for that at very large monitor sizes.

Also take note of panel quality. A shitty 4k panel is not a better experience than just a standard IPS 1080p panel. The 240hz TN panels I've seen were not very nice to look at, despite being smooth.

That's an F in the profile pic

Gaming/school means not movies and not pro gamer, so I think the middle one as @Froody129 mentioned.

If you want to play with high / maxed out graphics, 5700xt / 2070s and up.

Wouldn't myself go lower than 2060 / 5700, as if you play new games they'll quickly get too demanding.

Gaming always takes priority for me. So 240/1080 is my choice. Way better than my 1440/144 monitor. And I couldn’t imagine the frame loss on 4k or even using anything with 60hz.

But if the gaming is light and you use the pc a lot for work, the 4k could be worth it.

1440p 144hz  27" if gaming is the priority and 4k 60hz 27-32" if productivity is priority. Especially if it's photo/video editing.

Also depend on what games you usually play and how much you personally like the exstra Hz.

1440p @ 144hz is the sweet spot. High refresh rate, high resolution. No compromises.
