Overclocking a 60HZ Monitor

Go to solution Solved by Djole123,

It's absolutely fine! It even says on the specsheet of the monitor that it will accept a 75Hz signal, so as long as it runs fine, there is no risk behind it!

First of all, thank you all for your precious time!

I know there are lots of threads about this but my question is kinda different.

I have a Viewsonic VA2261 monitor that supports 75HZ at 1280x1024. It unly runs at 60 in native 1920x1080. My question is;

Will it be harmful for the monitor to make it run at 75HZ in 1920x1080 (tried that runs perfectly without frame skipping but too scared to keep it like that.)?

If so, what are the harms that may occur?

*Im connected to the monitor with Dual Link DVI.
