Am looking to upgrade my computer, the main focus of upgrade is the processor as want to get going with a bit of streaming and current one just isnt cutting it.

NZXT Source 340 Elite Mid-Tower

AMD FX-6300 3.50 GHz Six-Core

Gigabyte 970A-DS3P FX AMD 990FX Chipse

Msi Geforce GTX 1060 6GB

Cooler Master Seidon 240V High Performance Liquid Cooling

8GB / 1600mhz

Im not overly tech informed but from the research ive done I will need to upgrade both my ram and motherboard along with my processor if im looking to get a decent processor. I was originally set on spending a little more and getting a i7-9700k but wanted something a little cheaper so looked at the ryzen series but whenever I seem to choose a motherboard it comes up with this error.

+ any help with the bottom 2 notes is appreciated as well thanks.

Budget:

Processor - £200-£400

Motherboard - £100

RAM - £60

Appreciate any help, thank you.

I don't want my post to be the one you listen to, but to me it seems that most B450 boards came out in 2018, which are the ones that would fit in your price range, just wouldn't have the BIOS updated enough for the more current ryzen chips. That said, that's it, I'm unaware of a situation where it wouldn't be fixed with a bios update.

The first one means that if you get a board running a version of bios below a certain number, it won't accept the newer zen chips before having its bios updated.  This will require one of the older chips.

The AIO cooler requiring a mounting adapter means just that.  Out of the box, it may need an adapter for that type of mount.  Whether or not the product has been updated to include the adapter, or you need to buy it as another item from CM is a possibility,

The last one is saying that you just need to be careful, and make sure that there is clearance for the RAM when it comes to the cooling unit.

The warning about the mobo is due to all b450’s needing a bios update to work with Ryzen 3000. I believe AMD is finally releasing b550? soon which will be out of the box compatible.

What this means is you may... or may not get a mobo that has a BIOS that will support your chip. Problem is, you need a CPU to update your bios.

If you don’t want to go through the possible hassle of this, you can get a x570 board which will support the CPU our of the box, or wait for b550.

As far as the cooler, seems like it doesn’t natively work on that mobo.
