Should I upgrade my Ryzen 5 1600 to a 3600?

I got the PC update bug. I'm pretty satisfied with my main setup, but my TV gaming PC is a big lightweight.

Easiest and cheapest upgrade is to swap out to a 3600. I could benefit a lot from a GPU upgrade, but I don't want to spend $400 on that.

I just wanna upgrade something on it.

In lieu of that, do you all think the Gigabyte B450 Aorus M would play well with a 4th gen Ryzen CPU?

My TV gaming PC specs are as follows:

TV Gamer: Ryzen 5 1600 3.8ghz All-core @1.38v // Wraith PRISM // Gigabyte B450 Aorus M // 16GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 // XFX Radeon RX 580 8GB XXX Edition // Thermaltake Versa H17 // Corsair Vengeance Silver 650W // 120GB Sandisk SSD/120GB PNY CS900/4TB Western Digital Blue // Display: 50" Westinghouse 1080p // Rii Wireless Mini Keyboard w/Touchpad/Xbox One Controllers

It's probably still more then good enough. Have you checked the usage in video games? I doubt it is hitting its limit.

it isn't mostly.

it's plugged into a 60hz 4k tv, so naturally i'm playing 1080p/60.

That Ryzen 1600 actually still a good one CPU even for nowadays tho. You won't need upgrade it yet if the only use is just for TV gaming, especially 1080p. It actually still looks decent enough for me, for next few years.

Did saw your signature tho. holy shet mount of devices lol.

Humor me, as you should do.

If so, I might just swap my 8700k for that if it happens and finally get into the 8-core game

Well, but I guess you'd want to hold that cocaine just for a little bit more few years lol

Well, since upgrading to 3600 will be... Kind of unsatisfactory either later on, because Gen. 4 is closing enough, eh?

Welp, can't kindly know actually. Probably can support or probably not (can't seemingly to find reliable source yet), but I suppose, probably 60% can work tho.

Brother's personally have 1500+1050Ti tho. Still a good damn CPU that I actually use for Premiere render lol

Unless they can make that draw power like the 3rd gen 6 core at most, no.

Hold you balls, pretty late to consider upgrading, in 6 months your pc would be a generation outdated.

1600 to 3600 would be 10 or 15 more fps, meeh.

Jumping to 4th gen would be lovely.
