Fps drops/low fps in most games

sachin_jadhav_1993

I am getting 60 fps in CS GO and 5 fps in Shadow of The Tomb Raider, I normally get 300+ fps and 60 fps in these 2 games. I monitored the hardware temps and other stuff. GPU temp stays around 44 °C with 100% GPU usage most of the time. CPU temps is between 65 to 81 °C and CPU usage is very low for some reason, I can upload the Afterburner hw monitoring log file if anyone wants to see it. I had a similar issue a few months ago but I managed to fix it by installing 2 fans, changing the thermal paste and cleaning the CPU cooler of any dust. I can't seem to figure out what the exact issue is, one of my friends told me that the Wraith Spire isn't good enough and it should replace it with a better one. Could it be a PSU issue or a cooling issue? Any help is appreciated.

My PC specs :

  • OS - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
  • CPU Cooler - AMD Wraith Spire
  • RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000 MHz
  • Motherboard - Gigabyte X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING (BIOS version - F2)
  • GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
  • Storage - WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB and WD Blue 3D WDS500G2B0A SSD 1TB
  • PSU - Cooler Master MasterWatt 650 (650W 80+ Bronze)

At 100% utilization your gpu is at 44C?

Yes, that's what Afterburner is showing.

I have afterburner and the power limit is at 100% in afterburner. Should I increase it?

Also launch up a game after you've done it and send the screenshot of the afterburner .

I increased the power limit to 110% and ran Shadow of The Tomb Raider. Links to the screenshots : Image 1Image 2Image 3. I also get an error from the game, the error - error screenshot. I also ran the UserBenchmark, Link to the benchmark results. I got a rating of 3.88% for the GPU, I have no idea why.

Power is at %10... Can you show me the results when you are running furmark on windowed mode on background?

Maybe it is because it is at background. Try running furmark and tell me what it is again.

Oh and also you can set the power limit to the max because it does not harm the gpu if you dont touch the voltage settings.

For example it will use 150 watts if it was using 100 watts

Power was around 50% when Furmark was running.

I ran some benchmarks and stuff along with @umut255 on discord, I ran furmark and the power consumption was at 17.5 watts and the GPU clock never went above 139 MHz.

Fixed the issue, all I had to do was disconnect the HDMI and reconnect it. Maybe there was a loose connection or something. Can't believe I wasted so much time trying to fix it, when the solution was so simple.

Now I have a different problem, the FPS goes back to normal but then it keeps dropping very severely after a few minutes of gaming. GPU temp doesn't go above 68 °C for thermal throttling. Is the hdmi cable or the GPU power connector broken or something?

When I run furmark the GPU clock reaches 1500 MHz then it drops down to 800 MHz and then drops to 139 MHz and stays there for few seconds and then again it goes back up to 1500 MHz and the same thing continues. GPU-Z sensors screenshot.
